<b><p>Do Fido and films go together?</p><br><p>An Oakland movie theater tried to make that happen, but their plan was given two thumbs down by the county.</p><br><p><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://rockridge.patch.com/groups/arts-and-entertainment/p/public-health-officials-forbid-dogfriendly-screening-at-the-new-parkway" title="Link: http://rockridge.patch.com/groups/arts-and-entertainment/p/public-health-officials-forbid-dogfriendly-screening-at-the-new-parkway">Alameda County health officials told the owners of the New Parkway Theater they could not allow dogs into their movie house for a Saturday afternoon matinee.</a></p><p>It appears the denial was centered around cleanliness and the food concessions.</p><p>The event was going to be a fundraiser for a local animal shelter. The proceeds from the 3 p.m. showing (without dogs) will still go to the shelter.</p><p>What do you think?
