City: Maintenance At IKEA Site Unrelated To Development

DUBLIN, CA — The Pacific Gas & Electric Co. is performing maintenance at the site of Dublin's future IKEA store at 5144 and 5344 Martinelli Way.

This work will continue through the end of the year and is not related to the future development, the city said. PG&E is performing maintenance on its natural gas pipeline along Interstate Highway 580 and anticipated minimal impact on service.

"The big box retailer is still reevaluating its plans for the site in light of a changing retail environment, due in part to COVID-19," the city wrote in its Backyard Brief newsletter. "The City of Dublin will provide an update on IKEA's plans when new information becomes available."
