Dublin Dementia Patients Eligible For 16 Hours Of Free Care
Hope Hospice is inviting low- and middle-income families to apply for a caregiver respite program.
DUBLIN, CA — Low- to middle-income families in Dublin caring for a local family member with dementia are eligible to receive 16 hours of complimentary in-home care.
The Hope Hospice Family Caregiver Respite Program aims to provide Tri-Valley families with respite care, or short-term relief while a primary caregiver takes time for personal matters such as appointments, social outings or exercise.
“The stress that family caregivers experience as their loved one declines can be staggering,” said Gia Barsell, manager of dementia services and community education at Dublin nonprofit Hope Hospice, in a statement. “Whether you have help from other family members and friends, or you’re forging alone, you likely feel overwhelmed and exhausted most of the time. It’s imperative for your own well-being to carve out time for self-care.”
