Dublin To Honor Aubrey Phillips, Deputy Who Died On Duty

Phillips was a 36-year-old Dublin police officer and resident who died on duty in 2022.

DUBLIN, CA — Dublin Police Services and city officials will gather Tuesday, Feb. 11 to honor the memory of Deputy Aubrey Phillips, a 36-year-old officer with three children who died of a medical emergency while on duty in 2022.

Phillips, a Dublin resident who had been with Dublin Police Services for 7 months and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office for five years, was conducting a traffic stop at about 1:46 a.m. on Feb. 12, 2022.

While Deputy Phillips was sitting in her car, an assisting officer saw that she was in “severe distress,” and started life-saving efforts, according to a city news release. She was rushed to Stanford Valley Care Hospital in Pleasanton, and then transported to John Muir Medical Center. Doctors were not able to save her.

Phillips had three children, all of whom attend school in Dublin. Her husband is a Dublin Police Deputy, and her father is a retired Alameda County Deputy Sheriff, according to the city.

Following her death, the City of Dublin partnered with the Three Valleys Foundation to establish a Fallen Officer Fund, which has donated money to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office Charitable Foundation. The Charitable Foundation also opened an account at the Police Credit Union to help Phillips' family.

The memorial service will take place Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. at Dublin Police Services headquarters at 6361 Clark Avenue.
