Dublin Seeking Utility Art Box Design

DUBLIN, CA — Qualified artists or art students are invited to submit designs for painted signal boxes in Dublin until April 16, the city said. Selected artists will receive a $1000 stipend for each utility box.

The city is seeking proposals illustrating the theme of “Out of this World,” whatever that means to artists. Four of the utility boxes are located near Camp Parks, so artists are encouraged to submit ideas honoring the training area’s past, present and future. Additionally, artists are encouraged to review the existing utility box art collection to develop work that is unique, yet harmonious with existing designs. See photos here.
