Fatal Accident: Woman Dies Boarding BART To Dublin/Pleasanton

A woman was dragged onto the track in San Francisco while boarding a train bound for the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The San Francisco Medical Examiner identified the woman who died Monday in San Francisco while attempting to board a Bay Area Rapid Transit train bound for the Dublin/Pleasanton station.

Amy Adams, 41, of San Francisco was dragged onto the tracks at the Powell Street station.

Surveillance footage and witness interviews indicate Adams was standing on the platform with a dog leash secured to her waist, BART said in a statement released Tuesday. She boarded the train and "at the very last second, right as the doors were closing" stepped back onto the platform, apparently waving to someone. The dog remained inside the train.
