DUBLIN, CA — The outpatient lab at Dublin Medical Offices and Cancer Center will close April 6, according to a brief message sent Thursday to Kaiser Permanente patients.

“We understand that this may be an inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding,” the email said. “We encourage you to visit our Pleasanton or Livermore Medical Offices for all your future laboratory needs. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can schedule lab appointments through the KP app or KP.org. Your health and well-being are our top priorities, and we are committed to providing you with the best possible care.”

According to a Kaiser statement shared with Pleasanton Weekly, the outpatient lab is shutting down due to low patient usage. “There is not enough use of the service there to keep it open full time, and having it open only part-time could cause inconvenience or even confusion for our patients,” said the statement.

No other services at Dublin Medical Offices, including Cancer Center services, are affected, according to the statement. All employees will be transferred to nearby facilities.
