TRI-VALLEY — PG&E plans to initiate Public Safety Power Shutoffs in open spaces across the Tri-Valley from late Tuesday to early Thursday morning due to elevated fire warnings. PG&E said in a news release that its shutoffs could affect a total of approximately 22,000 customers across Northern California, including 2441 customers in Alameda County and 1240 customers in Contra Costa County.

In the Tri-Valley, the areas around Mt. Diablo State Park, Highland Road south of Morgan Territory Regional Preserve, Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park, and Del Valle Regional Park will be affected, according to a PG&E map. Densely populated residential areas will not be affected, though the map did not provide the number of customers who will be affected in these outages. Anyone affected by the shutoffs has received calls and texts from PG&E.

PG&E said it is taking "extraordinary measures" to prevent outages at voting and tabulation centers, and does not anticipate that any will be affected.
