Controlled Burns Begin At Camp Parks

Here's what you need to know about controlled burns underway near Camp Parks, beginning this week.

DUBLIN, CA — Don't panic if you see or smell smoke near Camp Parks in the Days to come.

The Alameda County and Camp Parks fire departments began Monday a series of controlled burns in the area. Controlled burns will continue from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through June 18, firefighters said.

Areas will be burned in small and low-intensity sections, according to Alameda County Fire. Firefighters "will be on high alert" and monitoring the burns to ensure they don't pose threats to nearby residents in Dublin or San Ramon.
