Sig-Alert: Expect Delays On I-580, CHP Says

TRI-VALLEY, CA — The California Highway Patrol issued a Sig-alert Friday morning after a car crash shut down the four leftmost lanes on westbound Interstate Highway 580, east of Santa Rita Road.

It's unclear when the road might reopen, CHP said at 10:30 a.m. Drivers should expect delays.

Alternatively, drivers in the area may consider taking Isabel Avenue, or State Route 84, to circumvent snarled traffic.

Traffic was backed up to Livermore as of 10:35 a.m.

"Please drive safe and with patience," CHP said.
