Got clothes to spare or dispose? The homeless in Northeast L.A. desperately need them to keep warm during the holiday season, and the office of Council member José Huizar is organizing a winter clothing drive today, Sunday, at Eagle Rock City Hall. All donations will go directly to the area's homeless.
The drive, in association with Recycled Resources for the Homeless, a nonprofit group, is especially designed to reach chronically homeless people who are mentally challenged.
The most needed items, whether used or new, are:
• Jackets
• Jeans
• T-shirts
• Shoes
• Socks & Underwear
• Blankets & Sleeping Bags
In addition, new hygiene items are also welcome.
