Update: Dodger Deal Closes A Day Late

Magic Johnson's Guggenheim Baseball Management announced the closing in a statement issued Tuesday.

Update: KNBC4 is reporting that the $2.15 billion sale of the Dodgers is final. No one objected to the sale in bankruptcy court by Friday, the deadline. Here is part of the statement issued by the team:

The Dodgers move forward with confidence -- in a strong financial position; as a premier Major League Baseball franchise; and as an integral part of and representative of the Los Angeles community.

Earlier: Los Angeles Times columnist Bill Shaikin is on the case, noting that the Dodger deal is expected to close Monday.

Folks had until late Friday afternoon to object to the $2.15 billion transaction that brings the team and its facility under Guggenheim Partners ownership.

McCourt is also expected to transfer $131 million dollars to his ex-wife Jamie on Monday .

The Dodgers won't be in town to note their new status. They lead the National League West with a 16-6 record.

The team is away in Denver, facing the Colorado Rockies in a game that begins at 5:40 p.m. PT.
