Speak Out: Echo Park Patch to Add Blogging

Echo Park Patch is more than a news site, it's an online conversation about your community.

That's why, as of May 4, we'll be making room for bloggers on Echo Park Patch.

Much like The Huffington Post has done, Patch will provide this online platform to reach a larger audience.

We seek people who can talk learnedly, candidly or comedically on topics and engage our readers in discussions:

• Are you passionate about issues in the area?
• Are you an expert craftsman or hobbyist who can share do-it-yourself tips?
• Do you have strong opinions about local government?
• Do you have a specific (or not-so specific) area of expertise to share?
• Can you just make us all laugh?
• Can you write compellingly?

Then, we want to hear from you.

Now, this isn't a reporting job. It's blogging. You write what you want to say when you want to say it.

Do it on your schedule, whether that's posting multiple entries per day or a couple times a month.

As editor, I will approve your participation, and review blog entries for appropriateness.

I might correct obvious typos, too. But I might not. Otherwise, it's your voice and your words.
