Echo Park Diner to Reopen After Al Pacino Shoot

It was all over the blogosphere: Al Pacino and Christopher Walken had come to Echo Park.

They spent several days shooting at the diner for the film Stand Up Guys, directed by Fisher Stevens.

Stevens won an Oscar in 2010 for the documentary The Cove, on dolphin-fishing.

A location manager told us the director picked the Brite Spot over many other possibilities.

Pre-production went on for two days, he said, and the shoot for another three, temporarily shutting down the popular late-night spot.

For one, the classy red booths and a lot of other stuff had gone into storage.

Workers pulled furniture from trucks and moved it back inside on Wednesday pledging to make things "just as before."

We shall see, when and if the restaurant reopens as scheduled Thursday.
