Five Things You COULD Do Today

Report back and tell us on Sunday how things went. Share your best pictures too.

1.  Attend Visioning Summit (LAND) for Echo Park and Historic Filipinotown  at Angelus Temple from 9 am until noon.  1100 N. Glendale Blvd.  Community leaders and citizens will share their view of the future. Patch will have a reporter there. Please say hello.

 2.  Check out the soft opening of the Silver Lake Meadow Park at noon.  Council District 13 representative Eric Garcetti will be there. So will Gary Leonard, making a record of this effort to open access to the long-fenced green strip on the east side of the Lake.

3.  Walk the best trail in Elysian Park. It’s just  off Scott Avenue and brings  you to an overload of the 5 Freeway and the L.A. River. Just park on Scott and follow the path. Dogs allowed.

 4.  Try some vegan ice cream at the new KindKreme location in Echo Park. 1700 Sunset Blvd. And watch for our review on Sunday.

 5.  Attend opening for the new exhibit at Subliminal Projects, Art, Access and Decay: New York, 1975-1985. 8 p.m. – 11 p.m.  1331 West Sunset Boulevard. The decay of downtown Manhattan made it an ideal venue for alternative art. You'll see  some of what was produced in this show.

I'm sure you can come up with your own list.  Please do.  And share it on the site. Just as good: snap some pics and post them.
