Rocker Flea Donates His L.A. Marathon Note for Raffle

The Red Hot Chli Pepper's bassist wrote it while training for the race in 2011. The raffle benefits the Silverlake Conservatory music school. Chances are only $5.

This year's L.A. Marathon is coming. Runners will gather early March 18 at Dodger Stadium for their run to the sea.

Flea is famous as the bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

But he's also revered locally as one of the founders of the

His philanthropy in that area is well known. Indeed, last fall the Red Hot Chili Peppers did a benefit at the Nokia Theater for the school.

Now Flea's reached into his personal papers and donated a note he wrote while traiing for last year's L.A. Marathon.

It will be raffled off on March 15.

According to the Conservatory's Facebook page, chances cost only $5, with no limit on how many you can buy.

Donate in $5 increments at the conservatory website and you'll be entered automatically.

You'll also be notified if you win.

They'll, apparently, also ship worldwide, even to "Brazil and Australia."
