GALLERY: T-Shirt Treasures From a Local Collection
Local "picker" Cesar Padilla builds out his T-shirt collection with some Echo Park adjacent finds.
Silver Lake vintage pioneer Cesar Padilla has been shopping for a long time. We used to hit some of the stores along La Brea together in the early 1990s.
Cesar's had stores in Los Angeles and New York under the Cherry moniker. But he and his long-time business partner Radford Brown still prefer the simpler settings of flea markets and personal collections.
Here Cesar shares the scoop on one of his latest local finds.

"I have been collecting and archiving obscure and personal rock shirt collections for some time now--the fruits of my labor being the book Ripped.
"As a California psychedelic punk rock child I tend to favor the artifacts of my misspent Southern California youth. I recently had the fortune to add to my massive archive thru a mutual friend, tee-shirts from the collection of the late Randy Kay, formerly employed at Slash Records and Warner Brothers.
