The price of gas is making trouble again.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular in Los Angeles County rose more than 7 cents Thursday to $4.186

It was the biggest one day jump since at least 2010.

The number is also up more than 25 cents on the week.

USA Today is reporting that oil consumption actually is at its lowest level since 1997.

But a major fire has left the Cherry Point refinery near Blaine, WA, closed for at least three weeks.

Tensions with Iran over its nuclear program and buying by speculators are other factors.
