Judgment Day 2011: Echo Park Tweets for the Rapture

How would you tweet about this latest Endgame?

If you’re on the Internet, you’ve heard this by now: a lot of us are waiting out the end of the world. It would take place after the so-called “rapture,” predicted for Saturday around 6 p.m. by Christian radio host Harold Camping.

In a rapture, Christians ascend to heaven leaving the rest of the non-believers stay on earth to deal with the devastation.  That's when the real Day of Judgment begins. Some are taking the prediction seriously. Others, like http://eternal-earthbound-pets.com/ see it as a business opportunity. Still others are punning on it in various ways.

Wondering where our nabe stood, I searched on Twitter Friday afternoon and found this lone Tweet linking Echo Park and the rapture:

Or try this challenge: what would be your parting salvo on Twitter should you be among the chosen? Or among those left behind?

I’m going for something like:

But I bet you can do better.

Also, there are many parties and event tied to Saturday's lift-of going on. We heard about one Friday night at Sutah at Sancho Gallery on Sunset Boulevard. It starts at 9 p.m. and features a chance to meet the cast of The Demise of the Dodo--described as a punk rock play about the Dodo bird opening May 28th at the gallery at 1549 Sunset Blvd.
