KCRW Video Spotlights Silver Lake's Vacation Vinyl

The made-for-the-web video celebrates the virtues of vinyl and the independent stores that sell it.

Wander Sunset Boulevard just west of Sunset Junction and it's hard to miss

The store came to Silver Lake a about a year and a half ago, and has quickly become a popular spot for rock record shoppers and in-store performance fans.

That it's owned by the same folks who brought us the comic shop Secret Headquarters hasn't hurt either.

KCRW too has taken note and features the shop in a news video about stores that specialize in vinyl.

The vinyl revival, of course, is not a new phenomenon, but we're glad for the Silver Lake love.

On the same post, KCRW asks Echo Park resident and KCRW DJ Marion Hodges where she shops for vinyl these days.

She singles out Glendale Boulevard's Rockaway Records for "a nice, diverse" selection, though Sherman Oak's Freakbeat is her fave.
