The L.A. Host Lions are business owners and professionals from the Echo Park and downtown area who want to give back to their community.

They are hoping to attract a new generation of members also interested in public service.

The L.A. Host Lions meet every  other Friday at 12:10 p.m. at for lunch and a speaker.

Newcomers are welcome.

The Lions are well -known for their public service programs including the Eye Mobile where outgoing president .

The Lions also run an eyeglasses recycling program to ensure those who need glasses have them.

Los Feliz and Griffith Park also have active Lions' groups.
