More Zumba Classes, A New Pocket Park in Hi-Fi
Here are just a few things going on later Wednesday in Echo Park.

It’s a busy Wednesday here in Echo Park. Here are just a few of the things civic and sports that you can take note of:
A new pocket park is under construction in Historic Filipinotown. Join locals as they consider what to call it Wednesday at 5 pm. at the corner of Rockwood and Colton. The Echo Park Elysian Neighborhood Council is proposing to rename it Mabuhay Community Park in honor of its Filipinotown location. Mabuhay is a Tagalog expression that translates loosely as "Live life" or "Viva."
The Echo Park Improvement Association hosts its monthly neighborhood issues meeting at 7 p.m. Come to the Barlow Hospital in Elysian Park to find out what’s going on in the world of land use and small business.

The Echo Park Recreation Center kicks off another round of Zumba classes, also at 7 p.m at the new gym at 303 Patton Street. The classes blend Latin and African dance moves into a cardio workout that's taking the world--and Echo Park--by storm. The classes will benefit the Rec Center's scholarship program too.
And, finally, check out Echo Park Patch later when the latest Echolocation from Chicken Corner's Jenny Burman goes up. Jenny shows that a little travel goes a long way in Los Angeles.
