National Coffee Day: Free Java of the Paper-Cup Kind
7-Eleven, other national chains are giving coffee away today on "National Coffee Day."
National Coffee Day may not be for everyone. But if you like your coffee quick and strong, try checking out 7-Eleven this morning.
Three nearby franchises are giving away free 16-ounce coffees Thursday morning.
They're celebrating "National Coffee Day," which is also being honored by Krispy Kreme and Dunkin' Donuts around the country.

The Silver Lake 7-Eleven at 1647 Silverlake Blvd. says it's "busy, busy" already with folks asking for their free Joe. They're apparently unintimidated by the presence of designer heavy l across the street.The promo continues until noon.
Up toward Echo Park at location, it's a little slower, with the promotion continuing through 11 a.m. and the indie option across the street.

The 7-Eleven at 3100 Beverly Blvd. is also giving coffee away today.
Two other major chains--Krispy Kreme (nearest location is in Burbank) and Dunkin' Donuts--are also giving away free or discounted coffee.
