Rotterdam Students Make Movies, Echo Park Film Center Helps

Founder Paolo Davanzo and operations manager Lisa Marr are in Rotterdam, Netherlands, through the end of May working with students. Shooting on the projects started Monday.

And that's what was going on near the waterfront in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, as "The Sound We See" project entered its production phase.

Students working with Echo Park Film Center's Paolo Davanzo and Lisa Marr had made their storyboards, scouted their locations and done their casting.

And they were ready to start filming. Cola (above) was the first to begin.  

They will stay until May working with the students, then hit the road for a few months before heading home.

Meantime, the Center's classes and programs continue, with a number of great events planned, including a reading and screening on April 13 of  YOU BELONG EVERYWHERE a performance documentary about the poet Derrick C. Brown by filmmaker Stephen Latty. A Q&A with Latty and Brown will follow.
