Salsa Making Contest Headlines Farmers' Market 5th Anniversary Friday
Echo Park Farmers' Market celebrates five years of fresh local foods, crafts and community with free carrot cake and a salsa-making contest.
is five years old today.
Special events at Friday’s market will underscore that and the fact that it's also Food Day L.A.
A highlight is a salsa-making contest—Seize the Salsa. Judging will take place at 6 p.m. Representatives from Greater Echo Park Elysian Park Neighborhood Council and restaurant will be among those doing the tasting.

Entries will be accepted up to one-half hour before the judging and the use of market fresh ingredients . The application in Spanish and English is in the attached media box.
Also at 5 p.m. there will be free carrot cake.

Cooking demonstrations and live music from Marissa Gomez and the Ghosts of Echo Park will also be part of the mix.
Sustainable Economic Enterprises of Los Angeles (SEE-LA) runs the Echo Park Farmer’s Market which goes from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Friday at 1142 Logan St, a half block south of Sunset Boulevard.
