Sold Out: 1st Annual L.A. River 'Fun Run'
Organizers closed registration Wednesday after reaching capacity. The four-mile route will take runners south from Los Feliz Boulevard and back along the river's bike path on May 6.
The first annual Los Angeles River Fun Run on May 6 is a hit.
So much so that organizers had to close registration Wednesday after more than 400 folks registered.
The four-mile route follows the L.A. River bike path from approximately Los Feliz Boulevard to the 2 Freeway.

So, for obvious reasons, space is limited along the narrow path.
Dino Perez is race director at A Runner's Circle Running Shop in Los Feliz, which is presenting the race along with the Council District 4 office of Tom LaBonge.

Perez said the goal is to showcase the L.A. River. The $15 entry fees will help raise money for groups that sustain the river including the Friends of the L.A. River.
Perez the event is "non-competitive." Participants will take off in three waves--runners, run/walkers and walkers--starting at 7 a.m.
The response has been so tremendous that volunteer slots are full too.
Perhaps it's time to consider a visit to Atwater's Red Car park and the path there, which overlooks part of the course just above Fletcher Avenue.
