Burglar Steals 12 iPads from Cardiff Elementary Classroom

The iPads were taken from a locked cabinet in a classroom.

Deputies responding to an activated burglar alarm at Cardiff Elementary School early Sunday morning discovered the theft of 12 iPads from a classroom, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The alarm went off around 12:34 a.m. and deputies arrived at the school on Montgomery Avenue within minutes, according to Sgt. Joe Passalacqua. The building was searched room by room with assistance from a canine unit and helicopter, but no suspects were found.

During the search deputies found that part of the fence surrounding the school had been broken and two classroom windows had been shattered, according to Passalacqua. The iPads were missing from a classroom cabinet that had the lock broken off.
