Encinitas Dentist and Wife Plead Not Guilty to 45 Felony Charges

An Encinitas dentist and his wife pleaded not guilty to dozens of charges including identity theft, conspiracy to commit fraud and elder financial abuse, the U-T San Diego reports.

They are accused of stealing more than $260,000 from patients.

Dr. Edward Bodek and his wife, Mary, pleaded not guilty last week to 45 felony charges. The couple is being held on $1.5 million bail, the newspaper reports, and the two are considered a flight risk.
