Encinitas Girl Scout Troop Working Toward Top Honor, Needs Community’s Help

Girl Scout Troop 1228 in Encinitas is working to earn a Bronze Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior can achieve.

As part of that project, the neighborhood girls will be helping Second Chance Dog Rescue, a San Diego organization with foster homes all around the county that rescues and places 80 to 100 dogs a month.

The girls have made dog beds to give to the new families when they adopt a dog—and they will be volunteering at adoption events where they will help dogs in need find their forever homes. They will be also working with the dogs, walking them, and talking with people who are interested in adopting.
