Encinitas Residents Encouraged to Enter National Water Conservation Challenge
The City has entered into the National Mayor's Challengefor Water Conservation.

The City of Encinitas Council is asking residents to pledge to conserve water, save energy and reduce pollution during Earth Month. The City has entered into the National Mayor’s Challengefor Water Conservation, a friendly competition amongst cities across the nation to determine whose residents can be the most water-wise.
From April 1-30, Encinitas residents are encouraged to go to www.mywaterpledge.com and make a series of water and energy conservation pledges. The city with the highest percentage of residents who take the challenge in their population category wins. Residents from winning cities will be entered to win thousands of dollars in prizes including a Toyota Prius, water saving fixtures and gift cards to Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores.

The National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation is sponsored by the Wyland Foundation, in partnership with Toyota, to promote resource conservation and the importance of sustainability leading up to and throughout Earth Month in April. The challenge is also supported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, National League of Cities, CH2M Hill's WaterMatch, Rain Bird Corporation, Lowe's Home Improvement stores and the U.S. Forest Service.
