Enjoy an Open House at Fire Station #5
The kid-friendly event includes a photo opportunity with Sparky the Fire Dog.

“Prevent Kitchen Fires” is the theme of the October 6-12, 2013 National Fire Prevention Week and the focus of the Encinitas Fire Department’s Open House. The Open House takes place on October 5, 2013 from 10 am-1 pm at Fire Station #5, 540 Balour Drive. The event will educate the community about kitchen fire safety and much more while enjoying time at the firehouse.
One highlight of the day is a photo opportunity with Sparky the Fire Dog. Open House visitors also can enjoy firefighter-led tours of Station #5, static displays of firefighting equipment and rigs, CPR demonstrations and face painting. People can obtain information from community vendors, and, above all, learn how to prevent kitchen fires.
