Other facts

I am a life time business person who has been on the Foundation Board for MiraCosta for two years and chairperson for the Development Committee for one year. I am married, two girls, one who just graduated from college and the other is going into her junior year. I graduated from San Diego State number one in Finance, and have built a carrier around understanding how large organizations work.

I have 30 plus year of business experience both in large organizations ( I worked for IBM for 12 years) where I had responsibility for up to $50 million in revenue, and other high profile companies. Since leaving corporate America, I have built my own property management and investment business from the ground up at an annual compounded growth rate of 35 percent (since 2001).

The MiraCosta Board of Trustees just authorized a bond measure ($497 Million) for the November ballot, and I believe I have substantial skills that will be needed on the board to make sure our money is wisely spent, that veterans are well served, and that we provide outstanding stewardship of this wonderful asset. I have built my reputation on being able to bring construction projects in on time and under budget. To date no one on the current board nor any of my competitors possess any background in this area.

I have professional licenses in securities and Real Estate. The board will be required to issue 100s of millions of bonds and only one member has any experience in the area of finance. I have the ability to work within large complex environments to drive quality results. I believe that everyone needs to be held accountable for quality and that the board needs to work together to make that happen.

I have worked hard as the chairperson of the MiraCosta Development Committee to generate funds for those that need a hand to afford college and have seen firsthand what our assistance means to our returning Veterans. More needs to be done.
