Motorcyclist Critically Injured Following Collision

A motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries Friday following a collision with a vehicle exiting a driveway on Via Cantebria, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The motorcycle was traveling southbound on Via Cantebria around 5:30 p.m. just south of Garden View Road when a vehicle pulled out of a private driveway, according to sheriff’s Collision Investigator Aaron Montan. The motorcycle was traveling approximately 40 mph and hit the vehicle broadside, Montan said, and the rider was thrown from the bike.

Mercy Air transported the motorcyclist to Sharp Memorial trauma center. The injured rider’s name and condition were not released.
