Unwanted, unused or expired prescription drugs have been determined to present substantial risks to our community by either falling into the wrong hands, or by damaging our environment through improper disposal. The Medical Examiner's Office 2012 Annual Report shows 269 deaths were related to prescription drugs last year compared to 267 in 2011, part of a disturbing trend seen over the last seven years.
