North San Diego County Cities Get New Area Code

To cater to the growing population, North County cities will receive another area code, according to a Fox 5 report.

Encinitas, Carlsbad Oceanside, Escondido, Ramona and Julian will receive the 442 area code. It "was first introduced as an option for residents and businesses in 2009, but now it’s the only option," according to the report.
