Council to Hear Olivenhain's Desert Rose Project Appeal on Wednesday

City staff recommend to uphold the appeal for the subdivision of a 7.87-acre lot that would be turned into a housing unit.

Editor's note: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated the staff recommendation. It is to uphold the appeal.

The Encinitas City Council will hear the appeal of a developer who had proposed to turn a 7.87-acre lot into a housing project with 17 units.

The Planning Commission denied the project in 2012 and city staff recommend the council uphold the appeal Wednesday.
