Olivenhain Self Storage Helps Foster Youth Through Urban Surf for Kids

San Diego Self Storage (SDSS), organizational entity of Olivenhain Self Storage located in Encinitas, donated a storage unit for one year to Urban Surf for Kids (US4K) in response to a growing need to house merchandise donated by corporations and private individuals in anticipation of opening a US4K thrift store. 

Urban Surf 4 Kids is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that empowers orphans and foster youth by utilizing water-based activities and encouraging them to give back to others through community-based projects. Merchandise donations were overloading the US4K’s physical office space on Utah Street in San Diego and Olivenhain Self Storage had available storage space to alleviate their overcrowded situation. The merchandise will be stockpiled in the storage unit until it can be inventoried for either display in the new US4K retail thrift store or added to their existing e-commerce online store.

Hector Lopez, Marketing Manager for US4K stated, “We’re tremendously grateful to SDSS for providing us with much-needed storage space. The merchandise we collect and house at Olivenhain Self Storage will enable us to raise money for deserving orphaned youth and foster children through our foundation. Although we do not have a storefront location at the present time, we’ll be able to document the donations and add items to our online store until we have secured retail space for a brick-and-mortar facility in Encinitas. US4K is encouraged by the benevolence SDSS has demonstrated by such a meaningful gesture --- the passion of giving back to the community it a quality that Olivenhain Self Storage wholeheartedly represents.”

Urban Surf 4 Kids introduces children to surfing, swimming, paddle boarding and a variety of beach activities.
