UPDATED: One Dead, Two Wounded In Fallbrook Shooting

Police have taken one man into custody in connection with the shooting.

UPDATE: Feb. 10, 6:10 p.m.

FALLBROOK, CA — The San Diego Sheriff's Department is reporting the arrest of one man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Fallbrook earlier today.

According to a social media posting issued just before 6 p.m., the shooting, which left one person dead and two others injured, occurred at a nursery near Live Oak Park.

"A suspect was immediately taken into custody without incident," the department wrote on Twitter.

Reche Road remains closed between Old Highway 395 and Gird Road.

According to a news release issued by SDSD, when deputies with the Fallbrook Sheriff's Substation and the North County Fire Protection District arrived on scene, they found at least three people with gunshot wounds. The victims were taken to a hospital.

"One did not survive," the news release said, adding that "there is no further threat to the community."

Officers with the California Highway Patrol, as well as Carlsbad, Escondido and Oceanside Police Departments are assisting in the investigation, the news release said.

"This area remains an active crime scene with many witnesses to talk to and evidence to gather," the news release said. "San Diego County Sheriff's Homicide Detail is on scene and is leading the investigation."

FALLBROOK, CA — A shooting in the 3100 block of Reche Road in Fallbrook has left one person dead and two injured, according to North County Fire Protection District.

The shooting was first reported at about 2:45 this afternoon, NCFPD Spokesman John Choi said.

Reche Road is closed from Rabbit Hill to Scooter Lane due to police and fire activity, Choi said, adding there is no active shooter at the scene.

The status of the two wounded people is unknown at this time.

The San Diego Sheriff's Department is urging the public to avoid the area while they conduct their investigation.
