“We are excited to continue working with and building a strong tie with the City of Encinitas, especially working closely with the Junior Guard organization,” said Ken Miller, founder of Original Watermen. “Junior Lifeguards provides a fun and safe aquatic education for the youth of Encinitas and surrounding cities through swimming, surfing and teaching ocean safety.”

The Encinitas Junior Lifeguard program hosts two- and three-week summer sessions for youth ages 9 to 17, educating participants on professional lifesaving skills and the ocean environment through various ocean and water activities such as swimming, surfing, bodysurfing, snorkeling and water competitions. Original Watermen and the City of Encinitas Junior Life guardprogram share the excitement of building a lifestyle in and around the water, and introducing this to future lifeguards.
