Pet of the Week: Cassidy

Each week, Encinitas Patch works with the to feature a pet in need of a loving home.

This week, meet Rudolph, a cat that will make you do a double-take.

• Age: 2 years
• Weight: 11 pounds
• Gender: Male, neutered  
• Breed: Turkish Van

That photo you see has not been altered: Cassidy has one crystal blue eye, and one sparkly gold eye — a rare and beautiful trait that makes him just that much more special. At 2 years old and 11 pounds, he's fully grown, but still as active as a kitten, so he has lots of energy to spare and will require lots of playtime.

Cassidy came to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through our FOCAS second chance program from another shelter. If you think Cassidy might be right for your new home, check him out by visiting the Rancho Coastal Humane Society website, or make a family outing to meet him.

Cassidy is available for adoption at Rancho Coastal Humane Society. His adoption fee of $125 includes medical exam, neuter, up to date vaccinations, and microchip identification.

 is located at 389 Requeza St. in Encinitas. The hours of operation are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Tuesday, when the shelter opens at 11:30 a.m.
