Poetry Slam Slated for This Weekend in Encinitas

The Full Moon Poets will take center stage Saturday night at the for Poetry Under the Stars.

If you’ve ever been to one of these poetry slams, you already know it can get racy, so it’s only fit for mature audiences. And adults can enjoy some beer with that spoken word, thanks to a nearby concession stand that will be up and running during the poetry slam.

The poetry slam begins at 7 p.m., but poet’s call is at 6:30 and they’ll need to bring three original works.

The location is 450 Quail Gardens Drive, about a half a mile north of Encinitas Boulevard.  Look for the big tent on the left. There is no cover charge, but keeping with tradition, a popcorn bucket will be passed around the audience to collect prize money for the poets—so donations are strongly encouraged.
