ENCINITAS, CA — Registered voters in Encinitas and across San Diego County will receive a postcard in the mail that lists their voting options months ahead of the November general election, the San Diego Registrar of Voters announced.

The Registrar of Voters has sent 1.9 million postcards that explain every active registered voter will automatically receive a ballot in the mail for the Nov. 8 election. Ballots will begin going out in the mail on Oct. 8, according to the Registrar of Voters. They can be returned by mail, via a ballot drop box location or at a vote center.

The Registrar's office expects to open 132 ballot drop box locations starting Oct. 10. Voters will also have the opportunity to vote in-person at more than 200 vote centers across the county. Nearly 40 of the vote centers will open on Oct. 29, giving voters 11 days to cast their ballots in-person, according to the Registrar of Voters. The other vote centers will open for four days starting Nov. 5.
