Sheriff’s Blotter: Rental Car Stolen, Several Vehicle Break-Ins

Items of note from the desk of the Encinitas station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department as of June 30.

  • A car valued at $1,000 was reported stolen in the 2000 block of S. Coast Highway 101 on June 23, sometime between 3:00 p.m. and 4:05 p.m.
  • Two crime reports were filed on the morning of June 23 about vehicle break-ins on the 2200 block of Carol View Drive. One report listed a stereo and other items valued at $900 were missing, and the other report listed $65 worth of items.
  • A rental car valued at $20,000 was reported stolen in the 1500 block of Juniperhill Drive around 4 p.m. on June 23.
  • An 18-year-old man was arrested on a felony concealed weapon charge in the 2500 block of Lone Jack Road on June 23. Tyler Robinson was arrested just after 8 p.m., charged with carrying a concealed dirk or dagger and DUI. He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
  • The Souplantation on N. El Camino Real reported an act of vandalism on June 24. Damage was estimated at $50.
  • A 31-year-old man was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon/not firearm on the 100 block of Lone Jack Road just after midnight on June 24. Gregory Leeper was booked into the Vista Detention Center on a felony charge.
  • A watch, phone and credit cards were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1100 block of N. Coast Highway 101 on June 25. The report stated the theft occurred sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The watch and phone were valued at $3,000.
  • A portable music device valued at $225 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1400 block of N. Vulcan Avenue on June 26. The report stated the theft occurred sometime between 9 p.m. on June 25 and 10:45 the next morning.
  • A bicycle valued at $400 was reported stolen in the 2300 block of San Elijo Avenue at 2 p.m. on June 25.
  • A computer, phone and wallet were reported stolen from a vehicle on S. Coast Highway 101 on June 27. The report stated the theft occurred sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The missing items were valued at $1,880.
  • Jewelry valued at $5,000 was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of N. El Camino Real that was also vandalized. The report stated the burglary occurred sometime on June 23 between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
  • A simple battery was reported in the 2200 block of Summerhill Drive at 6 p.m. on June 26.
  • A vehicle was reported stolen on Neptune Avenue and Grandview Street at 12:45 p.m. on June 30.
  • A vehicle was reported stolen in the 400 block of B Street the morning of June 30.
