Split This Plate: Honey’s and 2Good2B Tie for Best Breakfast in Encinitas

The breakfasters have spoken—and voted. And Patch declares a tie for this week's Readers' Choice award winner in the Best Breakfast category. and 2Good2B will share the honors, including a logo on their directory listings.

Mike Barbanti and Diana Mourato Benedek launched 2Good2B Bakery & Café several years ago in response to their own needs for gluten-free delectables.

 “We’ll NEVER introduce a product that ONLY people forced to eat gluten free will tolerate,” Barbanti says on his website. “Whether it’s a loaf of artisan bread, a quiche or toasted coconut cake everything has to be excellent by anyone’s standards. Our name isn’t ‘Kinda Good’ or ‘Sorta Good.’ It’s 2GOOD2B and the name says it all.”

Honey's Bistro, offers a dozen varieties of coffee, was hailed on one review site: “A no fuss zone. You order and seat yourself. It is a super busy place, the food is great. They bake their own bread which is just delicious. I had to get myself a loaf to go. But the reason for this place being so popular is their price. It is so right for the food they serve. every day. It's a casual, open atmosphere with seating outside. It’s a local favorite in the mornings.”
