Update: Man Dies After Being Hit by a Car in Encinitas

The 46-year-old man who on El Camino Real has died from his injuries, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The man, whose name has not been released, ran into oncoming traffic as he crossed the street, according to a report from the San Diego Sherriff’s Department.

He was transported to Scripps La Jolla Hospital and was admitted into the surgical intensive care unit. He died the next day, on May 9.

The man had no ID on him at the time of the accident, and deputies are still investigating the incident.
