What’s Cooking: New Pair of Eateries Coming to Encinitas
Stone Flats and Lourdes are coming to town.

About a month ago Patch gave you the rundown on , and already that list is growing:
First up is Stone Flats, a restaurant where customers craft their own flatbread-style pizzas. Stone Flats is slated to open off El Camino Real (near Vons) near the end of May, according to a spokesperson for the company.
Local entrepreneur Brad Mason founded Stone Flats, and though it's a fast-casual eatery, the menu aims to entice foodies-on-the-go with toppings like roasted garlic sauce, scallions and goat cheese. Customers can customize their own flatbreads, or pick from some of the popular combos on the menu. There’s also signature salads and soups, and some gluten-free and vegan options, too. Most items range from about $4 to $7.

Next up is Lourdes Mexican Food, which will open in Cardiff on San Elijo Avenue (next door to Mar Vista Liquor). Encinitas Patch contacted owners to find out its opening date, but had not received a response by press time.
According to its website, Lourdes serves breakfast and lunch, offering everything from burrtios to tortas to chevice to chile rellenos—though its real claim to fame is said to be the chicken soup. There’s also a healthy menu featuring beans prepared without lard and burritos made with whole wheat tortillas. Most meals will run you $5 to $8.
