You’re Invited to Attend Leucadia Oaks Park Discussion

A meeting will be held Oct. 15 at 5 pm regarding concerns brought forward by community members and the Sheriff's Office about activities at Leucadia Oaks Park.

Over the past year, concerns have been brought forward by community members and the Sheriff’s Office regarding activities taking place at Leucadia Oaks Park, 1591 Vulcan Avenue. The City’s Parks and Recreation Commission invites members of the public to participate in a Community Discussion to be held during the Commission meeting on October 15, 2013 at 5 pm. The meeting will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers, 505 South Vulcan Avenue.

Among the concerns voiced by community members are increased graffiti, vandalism and gang activity at the park as well as late-hour hanging out/drinking/smoking and an increased number of transients. Public input on these and other Leucadia Oaks Park concerns will be received by Parks and Recreation staff.

People who are unable to attend the Community Discussion are welcome to submit their comments, concerns and questions regarding Leucadia Oaks Park by emailing Parks and Beach Superintendent John Frenken at jfrenken@encinitasca.gov
