2 Critically Injured After Car Hits Encino Church Planter

The crash occurs about 2 a.m. Sunday.

After a car lost control and hit a brick planter at an Encino church, the driver and passenger were critically injured, police said.

The crash occurred about 2 a.m. Sunday when a 2003 Toyota Corolla driven by a North Hollywood man crashed into the planter at Our Lady of Grace Parish near Ventura Boulevard and White Oak Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

“It’s quite a bit back; they must have been going at a bit of speed,” Pastor Jay Cunnane told the Daily News. “It would be a bad collision for the car. I could see that. It takes some force to loosen up all the bricks but (the damage) is not hugely extensive.”
