Hygiene Kit Collection Campaign Has Successfully Concluded.
As The Grand Lodge of Masons in California supports Public Education, so does this Valley Masonic Lodge, as a focus of its charitable work.

Clarence F. Smith Daylight Lodge No. 866, Free and Accepted Masons in California, which meets in Van Nuys, concluded its collection drive of hygiene kits today for the children served by the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Homeless Education Program ("LAUSD").
All told, more than 100 kits were donated to the campaign by the Masons of the Lodge and their families over recent months. The kits, varied in content, include some or all of the following: shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, dental floss, body soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, brush/comb.
The kits will be delivered promptly to a local LAUSD office in the San Fernando Valley by the Lodge’s campaign coordinator, Bro. David I. Karp.

The Grand Master of Masons in California proclaimed September 2024 to be "Public Schools Month," which was the genesis of the Lodge's efforts as described. Public education has been a charitable focus of the Grand Lodge of Masons in California, and individual Masonic Lodges, for many, many years.
This effort to provide hygiene kits through LAUSD’s Homeless Education supported the Lodge’s charitable goals, its care for public education, its commitment to public awareness of the fraternity, and its endeavors to improve the world.
