ESCONDIDO, CA — A male juvenile was stabbed to death in North San Diego County, authorities said.
The stabbing happened shortly before 8 p.m. Monday in the 2700 block of Wanek Road in Escondido, according to the Escondido Police Department.
Officers arrived and found a boy suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to Palomar Hospital, where he later died, police said.

Officers learned that a group of boys were seen fighting in the middle of the street. At some point, the victim fled the fight and ran down the street before collapsing in the 2800 block of Wanek Road.
All of the juveniles involved in the fight fled the scene before police arrived. There were no suspects in custody.
